the Insurgent Posts: 1,326 Group: Admins Member #8 Joined: Jul 7, 2008	What was your worse and your best Christmas present you've received? My worse was the year that everyone in my family bought me shoes for Christmas. No one had talked to anyone else about what they were giving me and I received 8 pair of shoes. Now a lot of women would think that was a great thing, but for most men...eight pair? My best gift was year before last when my brother and his family gave me a laptop computer! Wow!

Resident Drama Queen Posts: 5,395 Group: Admins Member #33 Joined: Jul 23, 2008	Among the worst was probably the year I got a bowling ball, bowling bag and bowling shoes (I don't bowl) from my ex-husband. It was the Christmas that happened just as the ligament in my ankle was going and I had to have reconstructive surgery. Among the best was the set of leather bound books my high school boyfriend gave me. I still have them.

My mother had gotten Snowy and the girls some nice gifts...and I got a package of plain white socks. I already know what I'm getting this year, and it ranks among the best...but since I haven't gotten it yet, I'm not gonna say. I've gotten some other really great gifts over the years, but one in particular that stands out is "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare" in a beautiful dark blue hardcover, from Snowy, many years ago.

While I THOUGHT that the lovely little 8G Zen Mosiac would be my best gift (and believe me...it definitely RATES), I don't think anything can touch the beautiful sterling silver opal necklace that my Deborah chose herself to give me. Aside of the fact that she really thought about ME when she picked it (she knows that I don't like gold and that opals are my birthstone), she couldn't know that it was THE single piece of jewelry I've wanted my entire life!

My best Christmas gift was when I was a kid and my brother used his own hard earned paper-route money to buy me a bow for my violin. I used that bow for years and years, until one time we were playing with a group that was asked to play for the opening of the school year, here on island. I left my bow.... and I never got it back. I'm pretty sure he got me a cello bow, and those are REally expensive now!! I have never met a gift to me that I didn't like.... I think the worst must be what I got for Leo and his daughter that my kids helped me misplace and never got mailed to them...
