I absolutely love doing counted cross-stitch and plastic-canvas needlepoint. I have a few beautiful pieces I've made, including a Nativity Scene entirely made of PCN (Joseph alone is about 5" tall). Unfortunately, I haven't been able to buckle down and work on one in years.

I also learned how to knit, and I made a scarf. Unfortunately, the person who taught me how to knit moved before she told me how to STOP, so the thing is incredibly long!!! I just kept knitting and knitting...I finally got a book and finished it.

LOL I know how to cross stitch also, but I haven't done it in a long time. My projects these days usually involve trying to get an A in all my classes. :please:

Another craft I used to do is hook-rugs. I even taught Snowy, and will probably teach the girls, since it is so easy.

However, you have to be careful about how you talk about that particular craft:

Snowy and I were visiting his dad, Bud, once, and I had brought a rug with me. When Bud saw it, he asked me, "How long have you been hooking?"

He IMMEDIATELY took that comment back!
:what??: :hehe: :roflcry: :haha:

If I live to be 100, I'll NEVER forget the expression on his face after he realized what he said! LOL

*sigh* I miss him.

You're not kidding. He was saved the week we went down to see him, just a few weeks before he died. Between Snowy and a nurse, he accepted Jesus. I have a ton of great memories of Bud; he and I were TV buddies while Snowy worked the late shift, and we also had music in common and often exchanged albums.

Isn't it fantastic to know that he is waiting for you in Heaven? I have so many unsaved family members...I worry about losing them and never seeing them again.

I'm attempting to learn how to crochet. Not doing so very well yet, but I'm trying. :) I am an accomplished quilter, but I don't have much time to do it any more. :( I also have done a lot of sewing in the past, but not so much lately. I think I'm going to try and whip out a couple of easy skirts for my mom this week, though.

Sometimes I wish I knew how to sew...then other times, I'm really glad I don't! LOL The last thing I sewed was a pair of shorts in my 8th grade Home Ec class...which ultimately earned me a tetanus shot when I sewed over one of my fingers.

I can sew. I know the basics. I can hem (although I hate it), I can mend a seam, and Snowy says that, when I sew on a button, thousands of years from now explorers will come across a teeny scrap of material with my button still firmly attached.

Any heavy-duty sewing...that's what Auntie Ann is for!

My project right now is getting photos uploaded to my photo websites. I haven't done much over the summer, so I need to get caught up. I already have back to school pics posted for the family members who can't be here to see it.

I'm supposed to be working on filing and making sense of tons of paper work that needs to be filed, but I look at it and I just walk away to do something on the computer. Maybe, I should try to do 15 minutes a day like financial experts say.
