I'm not real good with all the descriptive adjectives so just have a look around and make yourself at home. If I'm not here, I'm over at Amalthea and Snowy's drinking up their espresso!

Oh yeah...I'm glad you caught my pet squirrels fighting like Jedi...would you believe I got them for a steal from Geico after people got tired of that stupid commercial where they ran a car off the road?!!! Leo, of course Ashley can ride a horse...grab one for yourself and go along with her if you like. Me, I have to run over to Amalthea and Snowy's for a minute...a little birdie told me they have more espresso for me!

My older brother, Rick, and his girlfriend, Karen (now wife - been married for 32 years), took my little brother (3) and me. Karen is a born horsewoman and has a wall full of medals to prove it. I was given a funky-looking pony named Hippy to ride. Karen showed me the basics and let me practice in a field across from the barn. I learned so quickly that later in the day she decided that I was ready to "ride the trail" on Hippy, going with everyone else. My little brother, Peter, rode with her. We were going along the trail, and I was going great. At one point some of the other riders let their horses step off the trail to grab some tasty leaves. I let Hippy, as well. Wouldn't you know it...Hippy stepped right on a hornet's nest!!! The next thing I know, my gentle little pony became a bucking bronco!!! He kept spinning, rearing, and kicking...and I stayed on! Before Rick could come to my aid, I had Hippy calmed down enough where I could get off the saddle myself. Needless to say, both Rick and Karen were rather proud of me, and we rode together many times after. Karen has said that, when they can have horses again, she wants to teach my girls. I'm all for it!

Last time I rode one I borrowed 'Pretty' a mare from my Uncle's farm and took her riding. I'd never taken her at more then a quick trot before, but while we were out a pack of dogs started chasing Pretty and scared her so badly she took off as fast as she could go with me hanging on for dear life. Until I got her back in control it was one of the most exciting 10 minutes of my life. That's not why I quit riding though and I'd love to get back on a horse again! Mayor, about the papperazi; I can't speak for the out of town folks, but if any of my reporters for L4J Good News give you a hard time you just let me know. I'll put `em to work at Acme Supply Company for awhile. A couple of good third degree burns outta straighten out their manners! Leo
