We need some more Theological discussion here. Anyone want to start more topics?

Ok, so, in this thread, let's find Scripture to dig into and discuss, get some "meat" into our L4J diets, so to speak....

I just put a word in the search engine, and here are the first 3 verses that popped up:

Ge 1:2 - The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.

Ge 6:3 - Then the LORD said, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years."

Ge 7:22 - of all that was on the dry land, all in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, died.

Uhm, Jemila my friend :friend: what do you want us to do with these verses? I know they all have to do with God's spirit, but are you wanting everyone to pitch in some idea of what these verses mean? I don't want to hijack your thread, you know. :oopsy: :hijacked:

I guess I wasn't clear: what stands out as interesting, what is something you may not have read or thought about before.... what verses come to mind as you read these? What are some attributes of God that you see in these verses?

I hope that is more clear. ;)

Well, I see several facets of the Spirit of God in those verses...He is clearly a person because He can move and "strive with man" or maybe we would better understand that cohabitate with man. That kind of blows the JW idea that the Spirit is not part of the Triune God out of the water, doesn't it?

Yeah it does! The verse that says God's Spirit shall not strive with man is really interesting. I want to dig more into that. You say co-habitate, and strive to me means not agree with, maybe even fight against, or like rams: butt heads.
Hmmm... I need to look it up in my concordance and my lexicon aids.

Oh, Jemila, I hadn't thought of that meaning, but you are right. That is a possibility, of course. I was just thinking of the context of that verse. Offhand, I think that is right before Noah builds the ark and the big flood. Or maybe right after...ah, I gotta do some research. Let's compare notes later! LOL
