Resident Violin Playing Plumber

There are so many games I have a hard time even watching being played, because of the sacreligious aspect. I cannot stand even the thought of participating in something that entertains the notion of my "character" serving another God, or there being some sort of deity being glorified, such as in Guitar Hero III.

My daughter has played GHIII, and I would not let her play it at all while hubby was gone because I just hate that!

Am I being too serious? Does anyone else find this to be a big deal too?

Hmm, I would have to think GHIII is ok, but I guess it's just a matter of opinion.

I wouldn't let my kid play it if it involves worshiping another (false) god. If you say that's ok in a video game, it gives kids the impression that it's okay in real life too. I'm really careful with that kind of stuff.

How does the game involve worshiping a god? I haven't played it.

There is the god of rock who is "over" you. It's just in Guitar Hero III as far as I know, though. :( I have a hard time with some of the lyrics too, though. If it was just the music I wouldn't have a problem, but listening to my 9 year old sing about adult heart matters... it gives me chills up my spine. Just not age appropriate, and certainly not the "cute" thing commercials try to portray that as being. I "grew up" way too fast though, so I might just be over protective.

I know what you mean. I see ads for the "Kidz Bop" CDs, and it drives me crazy hearing kids not too much older than my Deborah singing songs like "Party Like a Rockstar", "I Don't Want To Be In Love", "Hate That I Love You", "Bleeding Love", "Cupid's Chokehold"...

C'mon...let little kids BE little kids, huh?
